Featuring Pavel Gintov, Piano; Abbe Rose Krieger, Flute; Susan Buffington, Piano; Gary Kosloski, Violin; Emmanuel Vukovich, Violin; and John McDowell, Piano performing works by Fauré, Hüe, Glazunov, Tchaikovsky, Chopin and McDowell/Vukovich (NY Premiere).

These concerts on the first Thursday of the month, October through May, feature new and distinguished performers, wine receptions and premiere performances.

The Golden Key Salon Series at the Bechstein Piano Centre aims to foster artistic development by bringing artists and audience together in an intimate setting for uplifting musical evenings. Held on the first Thursday of the month from October to May, the Salon Series features new and distinguished artists, premiere performances, and post-concert “meet the artists” wine receptions. The concerts are presented in partnership with the Golden Key Music Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and educating musicians to perform with ease and communicative power.

September 11th Concert

John McDowell and Emmanuel Vukovich will perform in conjunction with the September Concert, a fantastic organization that produces and promotes musical events for peace all over NYC and the world on September 11th.

The performance, at South Oxford Space in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, is free but is recommended that you order your free tickets in advance. This concert is being held under the auspices of American Opera Projects’ Helping Hands program. Directions to the space are here.

The show has the theme/title: “Home Grown: a Harvest of Fresh Music for Peace.” It includes performances of mostly original music by Brooklyn- and New York City area-based classical and jazz musicians and also features fresh organic produce from local farms.

A Music for Farms Benefit Concert for the Rockland Farm Alliance will be held on Sunday September 13th at 3 PM at the Threefold Auditorium, 260 Hungry Hollow Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY. A reception following at 4:30 PM will feature locally grown treats. Tickets are $17 Adults and $12 for students in advance and $15 and $20 at the door (please visit to order tickets); The performers are musicians, composers and farmers John McDowell (piano and percussion) and Emmanuel Vukovich (violin), performing an original composition based on the Parsifal legend as well as classical and tango pieces. McDowell is best known as composer of the score to Oscar winning documentary Born Into Brothels and has toured with Rusted Root. Juilliard-educated Vukovich is a former member of the Lloyd Carr-Harris String Quartet, first place winner in the prestigious Fischoff Competition.

Come support The Rockland Farm Alliance (RFA), a broad based community coalition of farmers, community groups, community activists, local and county officials and interested citizens. The RFA was formed in early 2007, with a simple mission to preserve, create and enhance sustainable agriculture in Rockland County, NY. This grassroots effort, which started with the passionate vision of a single farmer, has grown into a powerful community force of over 400 members. With nearly every facet of our community represented, they draw on the expertise of individual members from every walk of life. Several exciting initiatives will be announced at the reception.
